It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Ilie Petrov. He was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed. He touched the lives of so many and it’s our turn to give back to his family in their time of need. We are raising money to cover the costs of the many unexpected expenses through the following GoFundMe link. Ilie is survived by his wife Lynn and fur baby Lucious; Lynn and Ilie were married for 28 glorious years.

Ilie was a dedicated member of the Capture Technologies family of employee-owners. He was a Technical Support Engineer working in IT for 25 years, we were very fortunate to have him work with us for 17 of those years.  He used his skills to support all of our desktop users, company-wide servers and phone systems. Ilie was also instrumental in supporting our AltiGen VoIP phone system customers. He loved his job, he wrote “I enjoy it because of its challenges and new things to learn every day. I especially like the satisfaction when all things come together and I am content when I am able to help any of my colleagues perform his or her job because of the solution I provided.”

Ilie was passionate about a lot of things, cooking was definitely one of them; he made a great Pizza from scratch! When we asked him to write a little something for our website about how he sees a perfect day, he wrote “My idea of the perfect day would start with a hot mug of good coffee on the porch or deck while looking at snow-capped mountains and then I’d move inside by the fireplace, read my Kindle and play with my dog and finish with a Moscow Mule and a good bowl of gumbo or chili with homemade corn bread.”

So we toast you, our friend and colleague. May the Stoli be ice-cold and the pizza ovens fired up. We thank you for your friendship and your many years of dedication to our 73 year old employee owned and operated company. We will miss you dearly. May you rest in peace.
