The Importance of Preventative Maintenance

When I became involved in Capture Technologies, Inc., formerly U.S. Audio, Inc., almost fifty years ago, the owner, William Scott, impressed upon me how important preventative maintenance (PM) inspections were to both, our customers and U.S. Audio. While so many things have changed, the important of preventative maintenance has NOT.

f you want to get the most out of that new vehicle, you just purchased, make sure you have the oil changed, tires rotated, and perform other required maintenance. Doing so will give you reliable means of transportation until that shiny new car tickles your fancy.

Regular maintenance is also very important to your most important asset: your body. I learned this, at the age of fifty, when I interview everyone over the age of 85 that would let me bend their ears. While I learned that genes do play a role, that wasn’t the only lesson I learned from these interesting interviews. The biggest takeaways were to maintain a healthy lifestyle, monitor and maintain your weight to your desired level, exercise and stay active, and to do everything in moderation; especially when it comes to your diet. And additionally, and a surprising finding was, that most had beyond an annual physical, little interactions with doctors, and took minimal medication if any.

What does this have to do with Capture’s preventative maintenance program – stay tuned!
