Verint Systems Inc. announced that they are launching a Building Information Model (BIM) library for their IP cameras: the Nextiva IP camera portfolio. This BIM is specifically designed for those who are designing themselves. Architects, engineers, consultants and security specifiers can all use this new technology to their advantage.
The new BIM will provide them with security product options, as well as the option to specify and design the stages of their projects. The library of three-dimensional BIM objects allows creative professionals to review the product’s dimensions, weight and performance characteristics. Not only that, but it can even tell the user environmental specifications and installation requirements, letting them know exactly what their specific project will need. This embedded tool will make projects go by faster and easier for several different fields that use CAD tools on a regular basis.
“Verint’s new IP camera BIM objects library is our response to the increasing use of standard computer aided design (CAD) tools for the design and specification of security solutions,” said Debjit Das, Verint’s vice president of global marketing. “Providing security objects tied to specific product information is an extremely valuable tool for architects, engineers, consultants, specifiers, contractors, building owners and all other stakeholders in enterprise and critical infrastructure projects.”
