Once upon a time, gasoline cost 16 cents a gallon, the Marshall Plan was created to assist war-torn Europe, and the infamously erroneous headline blared “Dewey Defeats Truman”. The year was 1948 and while it’s remembered for these and many more historical moments, it also marks the beginnings of what would become Capture Technologies.
The company formerly known as US Audio was founded in that penultimate year of the tumultuous 1940’s, immediately finding a home in the marketplace selling dictation recorders to professionals like doctors and lawyers. Customer service was already a cornerstone of the business plan, a tenet that has stayed a priority throughout the decades and still holds true today.
As business technology changed, so too did US Audio, becoming a leader in photo ID printers and software solutions as well as call recording solutions for 911 dispatch and call centers. The company became known for its customer service as well as being able to provide comprehensive solutions for businesses looking to manage a burgeoning data set.
By the turn of the millennium the company was changing again, adding Telephony Solutions (VoIP), video solutions such as Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and IP video along with access control to its stable of products. In addition, the company underwent a name change from US Audio to Capture Technologies, to better reflect their forward-thinking vision in this new era of technology.
Shortly after the name change Capture became an Employee Owned Company in 2004, which changed the mindsets of employees to begin to think they could now have a direct impact on the success of their future employment and retirement. Getting the employees owners to think as employee owners was a gradual process, but is now well ingrained in day to day operations. “The employee-owners are key to Capture’s success”, commented President, John Babin. “They have the ability to make decisions that help grow our business and ensure Capture will be here for another 70 years.”
Capture has continued to thrive as a business solutions company, providing a locally-based complete business solution that focuses on what the customer needs. By eschewing technology manufacturers or internet-based solutions, Capture gives its customers an in-person solution complete with continuing service and support. It’s this start-to-finish approach to providing business solutions that has made Capture a winning option for its growing customer base.
An industry leader in ID systems and call center technology, Capture also provides VoIP solutions and cloud services, as well as supplies and 24/7 support. Healthcare, Public Safety, Transportation, Government, and Education agencies are just a handful of industries with whom Capture works with in an ever-expanding data management marketplace.
Solid business practices and elite customer service have made Capture Technologies a mainstay for 70 years and with no end in sight to the technology boom, it’s not a longshot to say this company will be around in 2088!
