OpenEye keeps on working on the image quality for their 200-series. With their recent release of the analog CM-216 in-door camera, users will be able to see the full picture. The CM-216 will replace the 215 model with new features such as an increased resolution, improved light performance and DSP image processing. If you’re just now entering into the world of video surveillance, you may be surprised at all that OpenEye products are able to see and do.
The new CM-216 comes equipped with DSP, specifically to improve the image quality for users. However, if you haven’t heard of DSP before, now is the time to learn all about it. DSP, or Digital Signal Processing, processes a number of different types of signals, like numbers or symbols in order to project an image. It measures and filters real-world analog signals. DSP can include audio, speech signal processing, sonar signal processing, radar signal processing and digital image processing.
With this type of technology, an image can be produced through compressing what the signals communicate. The OpenEye CM-216 has this type of technology as an analog solution that will sample and then digitize.
Typically, the technology allows you to see the image with a DAC, or digital-to-analog converter. However, the 200 series is compatible with both a 12vDC and 24vAC, making them easily installable with an adapter that already comes along with the product.
The 216’s DSP also allows the user to have dynamic lighting conditions, which basically means that in the end, you’ll have a better quality image. With new lighting features, the balance is overall improved, so you can depend on the camera to record a quality image no matter what the circumstances may be. Whether it’s day or night, sunny or rainy, the CM-216 can handle the conditions.
The 216 also has an increased resolution from the older 215 model. It has
540 TVL resolution, increased from 504TVL from the 215 model. With a higher resolution, users will be able to see a much clearer image. Image resolution simply means more detail. For example, if you’re looking to upgrade from CCTV, a high resolution modeled security camera may be what you are looking for. With high resolution security cameras, you can see a person’s facial details in a much clearer view.
