Several types of businesses are required to maintain a key management system by tracking large numbers of keys and report on their handling. The type of businesses that have the greatest need to manage and track keys are casinos. With the keys for each of the slots, keys for rooms where cash is managed, and keys to many other sensitive areas that need to be tracked, the need for key management in casinos is a necessity.
Capture Technologies worked with Table Mountain Casino in Friant, CA to install and train on six key management boxes and GFMS software from Key Systems, Inc. Table Mountain was having problems getting the reporting and tracking information that they needed from the key boxes that they were using previously. After more than year of research into different key management systems, Table Mountain concluded that the Key Systems product was the best fit to solve the problems that they were having. Key Systems provided Table Mountain with the ability to use the same readers from their existing S2 access control system so that employees could use their standard ID/key cards for the key lockers. The GFSM software was set up to push data on a schedule to the S2 access software to consolidate reporting so that multiple reports did not have to be reconciled for audit purposes. Additionally, escalating levels of email alerts were able to be set up for keys that were missing for longer than the acceptable time as defined by the customer.
Capture Technologies supports the S2 access control system at the casino so we understood the need to make the two systems work together. We also provided onsite installation and worked with Table Mountain on a gradual switch over schedule from the existing boxes. These and other features made Key Systems’ key lockers from Capture Technologies a great fit.
Other types of industries that benefit from key management systems are universities, K-12 schools, apartment complexes, property managers, Police and Sheriff Departments as well as several other markets. Key Systems offers several styles of electronically controlled cabinets to store, audit and manage your keys and other assets. These devices can also be customized to secure a wide variety of sensitive items such as weapons, smart phones, cameras, etc. However, keys remain our customer’s main focus for asset retention. The two most widely utilized methods for storing keys are through direct entrapment and/or Tamper-Proof Key Rings. Access is assigned to one or more users based on configuration through GFMS Software. PIN access is standard and a host of other access options are available. Key Systems are also the only key management system currently on the market that is manufactured right here in the USA.
